Let’s face it, many of us CBCers are creative types. We might slave away behind Dalet or iNews, but we secretly dream of writing that Giller prize winning novel or screenplay. I noticed a cool little site launched out there called the Word Count Journal. In Word Count Journal, by gradually building up your writing stamina and discipline (by writing a set number of words each day, every day) you will write a whopping 66,795 words at the end of one calendar year. Little by little, the total of your written words will add up to more words than contained in the average novel.

That’s my burgeoning novel, The Bank Heist. So far, the opening chapter starts: “I didn’t expect David to react that way. Everything in our email correspondence suggested he had volunteered to be hit with the bat.”
I doubt the actual plot will work, but at least I have a catchy opening.

I actually like the second sentence better, so maybe you should switch the order. First sentences are important, right?
I’d love to watch the blog, but I can’t subscribe through Bloglines. The feed that it provides is for ALL journals, not just yours. Bummer.
Great support from the Word Journal support folks - the issue has been resolved and now I’m subscribed to your feed. Looking forward to the next instalment with anticipation ….
