If you are a vertical visual filer, like me, all the current working files have to be visible or you forget about them. But if you get rid of the extra stuff, you can make nice workable piles and appear organized.

But not eating at the keyboard won't work for me - otherwise how could I surf your site on my lunch break?

I cannot stand anything on my desk. At the end of the day is doesn't even look like anyone sits here.

I've definitely got to agree with the limited amount of picture frames on your desk. Aside from the pleasant reminder while you're working that there is more than work itself (which helps keep cubicle insanity at bay), picture frames are nothing but an annoyance to those hectically organized desks. The Flickr suggestion is a good solution.

But no Post-It notes? I would be lost without those ingenious sticky life savers. I've got 5 of them plastered on my monitor right now!
