Behind the mic at Freestyle
Here’s some of the behind-the-scenes audio from Freestyle today, captured during one of the 90 second news breaks. You won’t be able to hear Matt and Kelly, the people "behind the glass."
A glossary of sorts to what you’ll hear:
- A reset: "Welcome back to Freestyle…"
- TTV: "TIme to voice" (how many seconds into the song do the lyrics start)
- Post: A moment in the song where something significant happens (like the drums start or the music changes in some way)

Why is the Roundup on your mind so much?
It’s not, really. It just naturally slips off the tongue. Freestyle is broadcast from the same studio as we did the Roundup in. I didn’t guest-host the Roundup much, but enough times I guess to feel comfortable in there. So when you’re in the same studio, with some of the same people, sitting in the same chair… sometimes it just happens.

See, that’s why blogs are beauty. That behind the scenes stuff is really interesting. I always wondered how the announcer would only talk over the intro.
