It's difficult for me to remember on Wednesdays from the 'States as well. Mondays are a very slow TV night down here - basically CBS wins with comedies. I've enjoyed being able to watch "Little Mosque..." "Sophie" (which grew on me) and "Being Erica" all on one night. Just for laughs can be entertaining but it usually doesn't have a line up that keeps me interested.

This is one I really don't get. I'm an avid TV watcher (not yet PVR) and was delighted to watch Being Erica on Monday nights. Now I have to choose between Being Erica and two old faves and a newer fave show on Wednesday night. I can't see how this works to the advantage of the show.

No, Joe, "logic" is correct. As is "theory" in your sentence, though only the most unscientific definition.

When you use the term “logic,” you really mean “theory.” The theory that Being Erica would do well in Wednesdays is being disproven in practice before our very eyes – apparently not too many of them.

TV execs change the time slot of shows to grow them, i.e., reach larger audiences faster.

In a television universe of copycat series, Being Erica is that rare commodity -- a truly original show, with an uncommonly engaging star. With any luck her new Wednesday home will become the weekly appointment destination it deserves to be.

Og Ogleby,

"Payed" IS a word, but only applies in the context of giving rope... so it is indeed misspelled for the purpose of this blog post.

Why do television executives always change the time slot of shows.

This just ends up confusing the loyal viewers while not necessarily helping get new viewers...
