lolcats

On The Hour… literally

It’s Friday, and I’d be remiss in subbing in for Tod if I didn’t make some effort to squeeze in a lolcat somewhere. As luck would have it, my kids are cat sitting two kittens this month. And on day one of their stint at Casa Gorbould, look what Meg discovered!

Cat on The Hour

Now, I’m pretty certain this is not lolcat worthy, but there may be a funny caption in it somewhere… Anyone?

(Well, Tod, I tried!)

Today’s winning lolcat

lolcat: “Design Shop Sale”

Yesterday’s winner of the caption for the lolcat image was:

Wanna take a shot at it? Here’s today’s image. What caption would you put under this image? (I’m guessing technicians and engineers will have a field day with this one.)

Don’t worry, cat haters. I’m sure I’ll get bored of this. In a few months. ;-)

“Radio techs, I’m coming for yur job!”

Always one to find a funny idea, then shamelessly rip it off for my own personal gain, may I present the first in a series of CBC’s own Lolcats.

Lolcats are the latest meme to infect the digerati. They’re photos of cats with humourous (and usually mis-spelled) captions. Wikipedia notes that “Lolcats are similar to other animal-based image macros such as the O RLY? owl, but the cuteness of cats enhances the appeal and increasing prominence of the Internet meme.”

So, how would you caption the following photo? (photo by Angele)

Remember, only broadcasting-related captions are eligible for the grand $100,000 prize. (Grand prize not available in all provinces.) Actually, there really is a prize. Anybody can enter, of course, but only CBCers are eligible to win. (This is their employee blog, after all!) Probably a couple of CDs or something, so be sure to leave your name, position, and location in your comments.

While not quite Lolcats, Ouimet had a funny take on the meme with lolexecs. :)
