CBC Ranks First In News Sources
According to the Google Zeitgeist published last week, ‘cbc’ is the number one term for news sources in Canada.
The results mean people typed in the term ‘cbc’ into the Google search engine more often than any other news provider – beating out CTV, BBC, CNN, Global and several others.
This would seem to indicate that the CBC is a strong front-of-mind brand for news searches, which bodes well for CBC News in general and cbc.ca in particular.

This would make sense, since nobody in Canada would want to type “cnn” or “bbc” for Canadian news
Very good, however, “The Tyee” just won three categories in the best of 604, including best news site.
Competition is hot on the best, errr, west coast!

I get my news from CBC because there is no better alternative. The local newspaper recently re-vamped its site, making it unusable, and any other news site is too sensational and shallow.
