CBC fashion: At least you know nobody else will be wearing it…

It’s kind of hard to know where to file this one. But believe it or not, the design on this African dress is purely coincidental.

The dress, known on its retailer’s web site as Office and Career Outfit ca-1011A comes in four sizes and costs $150 (!).

It comes with a skirt, blouse and head-wrap.

According to the promotional material, you can “Wear to work, office or to entertain - with or without head-tie.”)

I dare you.

I seriously dare someone to wear this to work.

Hat tip to Jonathan Pinto.

    Fashion Police says:

I believe that is an improper use of the CBC logo!  According to that silly design bible they sent out a few years ago, the exploding pizza (now dubbed "The Gem") can only appear as red.  We may have to send the Fashion Police or maybe just the host of Fashion File to make an arrest…

I will if you’ll buy it for me. I bet it would do well at Hallowe’en, too.

    Michelle Sullivan says:

I like it! I would *so* wear it (and not on Hallowe’en) if I worked at the CBC.

In fact, if Test the nation had thought to invite me onto the bloggers group, I would have worn it there!

    Swiv says:

The real question is, can we get it in old-school orange and blue.

    Diana says:

if you buy it for me, i’ll wear it next time i’m on the radio.

Well, I really have got to give credit to my friend Elisabeth for finding this bizzare link. Given my CBC clothing obsession, she knew that I’d find it hilarious and knowing that most CBCers would probably share the sentiment, I sent it along… :-D

    Jeremy says:

There’s no way that’s a coincidence, it’s too unique a logo. I could understand if it was the old Global thumbnail clipping logo, but the exploding pizza..err, gem, is way too complex to just happen.

    Nikolas says:

I’d wear it… I just don’t think that it’s socially acceptable for men to wear dresses… yet.  Don’t hate guys, you know you’ve been thinking the same thing.

    Disparishun says:

It’s quite possible that the proprietor of this London, Ontario business was, in fact, familiar with the logo, and did not hit on it independently.

    Jonathan says:

Looks like someone commenting on Torontoist, which reposted this item, has potentially discovered the origins of the garment:

    Link to comment/blog post:
"A quick look around their website made me change my mind, since their main contact number has a 519 area code and it clearly states that "[their] products are shipped from London, Ontario " — which brings me back to the original question…
which brings me back to the original question…

How and why they decided to incorporate the iconic CBC logo into this garment"

    "

    Nathalie says:

I would SO wear it too!! I’m not forking $150 for it though… Wonder if they’d do a cbc discount?
