CMG Agreement Ratified
The new collective agreement was ratified with a vote of 93 per cent in favour.
I can’t tell you how delighted I am with this news. Not only because we don’t have to hit the pavement again, but because it’s the culmination of a new relationship between the union and management that has been long overdue at this corporation.

Very glad to hear it. Nobody wanted a repeat of 2005.
What was the percentage of members who voted?
93% of what?
As for 2005 the Corp locked us out.
What Tod said. Cubed.
I remember it as a lockout, too. Having just been through a transit strike here in Ottawa, though, I don’t want that to happen at CBC either. Not for a long time.
As someone who has been around for awhile and participated in several lockouts and strikes, I view this entire situation with guarded optimism.
There does seem to be a new attitude at higher levels of the corp and the union, seemingly spearheaded by M. LaCroix and M-P Laurin.
Perhaps 5 years of relative peaceful co-existance between the two parties will help improve the situation for both parties.
However, this doesn’t mean that people shouldn’t be vigilant about their rights under the collective agreement and the law.
