New owner of CBC’s program archives will remain British
Canadian film company Peace Arch Entertainment has decided to not buy London-based ContentFilms.
The CBC has sold ContentFilms the international distribution rights for more than 700 hundreds of hours of CBC TV and film programs. Concerns were raised about the deal when the CBC admitted it did not go through any sort of public bid process.
Peace Arch was in talks to buy ContentFilm for roughly $35 million. It cancelled the deal saying there was too much turmoil in the credit markets.

A genuine shame and pity, that.
For once it would be nice to see a Canadian company buy a foreign one.
