Two years ago today, CBC Radio 3 celebrated its millionth download, making it the #1 music podcast in Canada. Today, CBC has six podcasts in the top 30, with Stuart McLean’s Vinyl Cafe being in the #1 position most days.

I still do not understand why more CBC content - especially original content that would have little to no copyright concerns - such as the evening news from the regions or the National are not available in podcast format. These programs are available in streaming format via the CBC website, why not a podcast? Also where is the podcast only content? After nearly three years of providing this service the corp has been slow to react to the desire of podcast consumers for original (e.g. not previously aired via some other medium) content.
