Do you have the Ian Hanomansing hockey card?
So I’m in Toronto today and sat down at a vacant workstation in the building and found this pinned to the cubicle foam.
Yes, it really exists. It was a promotion of some kind a couple of years ago. Here is a picture of the back. (Sorry it’s so blurry. I’m shaky if I’ve had less than eight cups of coffee by 2pm.)
Considering there’s nothing for sale on eBay about Ian, I kinda wonder if I should snag it and, er, sell it.

I certainly place a bid or two!
I think it’s a hockey card.
This was a hockey card (not baseball!) used to promote a short series that Ian did for CBC Vancouver about 3 years ago, called “Still Talking Hockey with Ian Hanomansing”.
It was a talk show that aired after “After Hours” on Saturday nights, and was produced by Scott Moore, the new head of CBC Sports.
There are still a few of these cards kicking around CBC Vancouver….

“Freestyle” seemed to have a large stack of the cards at one point. They were giving out prizes for some reason some time ago (the prizes apparently scrounged from the CBC Van offices) and always adding the Ian Hanomansing hockey card.
Not sure if they have any left for you Tod. Better hurry before they have to clean out their own “lockers”..

Anna here from Freestyle. When Freestyle first went to air there was no budget for swag but we still wanted to give prizes to our listeners so we fanned out in the Vancouver building and collected out-of-date or surplus swag from other shows. One of our big finds was a stack of Ian Hockey Cards. We gave them out to special listeners and they became quite covetted. Now that we’re cancelled I’ve got a stack of them and am happen to internal mail one along to anyone who asks. Just send me an email.
