Gloria Macarenko’s 20 Years at the CBC

The supper-hour news show in Vancouver just celebrated a significant milestone, co-host Gloria Macarenko had her 20th anniversary. The guy at the show put together this highlight reel (there’s a bit of an audio sync problem).

Macarenko has twice been nominated for the Gemini Award and her most recent honours include a Jack Webster Award for “Best News Reporting” in 2002 and in 2004 and a Leo Award for “Best Anchor in a News Program”.

Glad no lock out until at least 2014 says:

You might want to fix the audio. Out of sync. Tried it on two different computers.
Have an editor take a look.

Craft people can be helpful although the bosses would like to ditch all the craft people and just hire IT folks.

    Brutus says:

‘Cause there’s no craft in IT, eh bud? Or web production? And craft people – they never screw up!

Getting to feel like Logan’s Run around here.

    Charlie Gould says:

Question, on the monday ” on the coast show” you talked about an Engineer who has a way to move excess heat in a building from one area to another where it would be better utilized. How does one get more information on this

Not a slight against IT folks more of how management says” if the work is done on a computer why do we need craft people?”.

Just because someone has a word processing program doesn’t make them a poet laureate.

Feel free to pile on folks
