He Still Strikes a Chord
Having worked at the CBC building in Toronto for several years, I’ve always been amazed at the number of pedestrians that stop to pose for pictures with the Glenn Gould statue in front of the building.
In the summer it’s literally a constant stream of people snuggling up to silent Glenn. In fact in the last few years he’s had so many people sitting on his lap that the bronze is totally worn down. It’s smooth and shinny. I’m sure the famous recluse would be amused at the irony.

Nice to see this blog back up and running
Would it be possible to have the name of the person that posts a particular article/post as an end signature or at the beginning?
Back in the day you could almost assume it was Tod but now I know this isn’t him.
Also.. will more contributors come on board?
Hey Patrick,
I wrote the posts. Sorry there was some sort of tech glitch that was preventing the authors from being displayed, I fixed it tonight. p.
Never mind what Glenn would think of the irony of people cuddling him and having their picture taken with him — I would like to know what he’d think of the CBC Radio 2 changes.
Hie is becoming famous on Facebook now too. Thanks, Front Street has never looked so good!
