Sounds good. Will these games and shows be available to anyone in the world? Or will hockey-loving Canadians residing outside of Canada be barred from viewing them?

    Paul says:

Great! Now, I don’t have to have the Leafs rammed down my throat just ’cause I live in Toronto - I can see good hockey, for a change.
Maybe I can even escape seeing that Don “Never Won a Cup Or A Series” Cherry.

[...] to Inside the CBC, all 85 Hockey Night in Canada games will be streamed online this year, so if you would rather watch a different game rather than suffering through a Leafs-Blue [...]

    Jay says:

I have the same question as kempton: Will the games be available outside Canada?

I’ve been living without hockey in Brazil for 10 LONG years and these games are my only hope of following my beloved Leafs.

    Tod Maffin says:

I don’t know for sure, but I would expect not. It’s not the CBC’s call, really — that’s part of the rights that the NHL holds, and doesn’t usually let broadcasters stream Internet content outside of the country they have bought the rights for.

    JC Cloutier says:

I used to love in Buffalo and even though we were in NY state, I could watch the CBC via a regular cable provider. I just recently moved further away from the Canadian border and I hope it won’t change things.
I’d be willing to pay a small fee if it meant I could watch HNIC from the States.

    Jean-Guy Roberge says:

I’d like to understand.Mr. Todd Maffin says he doesn’t think the games can be viewed outside the country.I thought internet was international and unless a website is blocked by a firewall of some kind, anybody can reach that website.
Please explain me how it works. Is the stream transmitted over a website?Isn’t anyone dialing that URL connected to it?

Response: It is possible to “geo-fence” content. This is why you can’t watch some full-episodes of American prime-time programming, even though it’s offered in the U.S.

how do i get hnic stream for games

    Jim says:

Good question - I’m looking to watch these games as well. Anyone know where we can view these streamed online games?

    Thanks!

    Kev says:

Go to cbc.ca/sports/hockey during the games for the live streams. And to get to the on-demand versions, open the video player either via the Video link on that page or directly at http://www.cbc.ca/sports/player/, choose Hockey Night In Canada from the menu, and you’ll find the full games, highlights, Coach’s Corners, etc.

    John says:

Please what is the URL to get that stream.

Were streams used last year. Usually the early game is on 41671. I have yet to get a friend in Canada to find me the stream that the late game uses, as it is neither of these.

    pl says:

    this is not working tonight

    Sarah says:

I tried the 41671 stream and it worked for a second, but then it stopped working!

    Vince Porter says:

I must protest the crass commercialization of our soldiers deaths by HNIC and Coaches Corner. The deaths of these young men must be something more than a stage prop for Don Cherry and his contrived persona/corprate interests. Why does HNIC stoop to this?

    Dwight Williams says:

Vince: I’ve never met Mr. Cherry, and while his behaviour occasionally grates, I have to say that I can’t fault his support for the memory of our recent war dead.

    Doug Bourgeois says:

Does anyone have the up to date feeds for the line up tonight? I am working in PA and have NO access to Hockey night in canada? I am from the west and I would do almost anything to catch the Edmonton vs Calgary game tonite…

    jim addison says:

does anyone know the data streams for the 11/24/07 games

    Russell "The Man" Hammer says:

Great idea, this make me and my kids very happy
