Joe Schlesinger Earns Lifetime Achievement Award

Joe Schlesinger has earned a lifetime achievement award from the Canadian Journalism Foundation.
I must say I can’t think of anyone at the corporation more deserving on this award. Schlesinger has worked for the CBC since 1966. I can still vividly remember his reports from Czechoslovakia and Hungary as the Soviet Union crumbled.
He covered wars and conflicts, from Vietnam to the Persian Gulf, and examined Canadian foreign policy under prime ministers stretching from Pierre Trudeau to Jean Chrétien.

And so he should.
The man is a gentleman and has brought civility and intellect to Canadian broadcasting, which by 21st Century standards is TOTALLY lacking
Congratulations to Mr. Schlesinger.
His calm, dignity and, most of all, sincerity are what we came to expect of the CBC.
Although many areas of the CBC have gone awry over the past few years, Joe Schlesinger represents some of the good that is left. He is the epitome of a journalist. It’s good to see his contribution rewarded.
Joe Schlesinger Is a superb journalist and a great man!!!! well deserved Sir
P.S. CBC and the rest of Canada’s current journalists are a pathetic joke!!!!!!
