I wish someone …SOMEONE would please for goodness sake find and post a video of CBET’s famed sign off with some unknown background music playing as we see behind the scenes as the Windsor station closes down, we hear their announcer speaking followed by the some unknown typing of GOOD NIGHT (or in the sign on GOOD MORNING) then the on the sir sign goes off as we fade out with the CBC “A season to celebrate” instrumental and either the unfolding maple leaf 9 or the double 9 with CBC logo inside the 9…

Is the CBC and the people who work there as boring as it’s presence on the internet make it seem? Is it on purpose, so that you’ll watch more TV instead?
Are there no creatives being used to produce internet-specific content? Is it just coders monkeying with page elements? And that’s supposed to be different and interesting?
I can accept that this blog is fundamentally a PR diversion and trivial pursuit, but does cbc.ca have to continue to be a bad copy of what the CBC is up to, really just an overblown form of advertising, instead of an opportunity for new content and form of communication with the audience?

On the topic of theme songs – yesterday I archived a FOCUS NORTH (CBC North weekly magazine show 79-91 approx) from 1987 in which the composer of its theme song was interviewed. He describes his inspiration as “northern lights & northern sounds”. I immediately thought of the HNIC competition

Why is it that during the hours that China sleeps but which are our prime morning and afternoon times, most of your Olympic program consists of commercials, adds about your fall programs, interviews and talks by your many commentators?
Aren’t all those CBC people there mainly to show us what is going on. Your audience wants to see the action so, please, give us that and cut down of the rest.

I’d like to see the closing theme of “The National” from the 70′s as well as if any tape exists of tghe open and close of This Week In Canada with Joe Cote..ANNNND the best CBC SPORTS baseball opening EVER! with a behind the scenes shots of the CBC crew getting ready for the broadcast and shots of fans entering the stadium..all with a hip instrumental version of Take Me out to the ballgame” which ends with a little close up of a shimmering baseball that morphs into the famed CBC SPORTS logo
