I like the new CBC Network sets, but not the moving of grafics in the background, it makes my head feel dizzy. Dear Evon Jim and & enjoyed your new Power & Politics programme.
Pretty good show from what I caught.
Although I do have some technical criticisms.
-I have seen Better camera blocking for a four person panel on Rogers Television (Community television operated by volunteers) then I have seen on the show today. It’s the first day and it was probably a bit hectic, hopefully it will go better tomorrow.
-Looks like the director always insisted on having the wide shot camera trucking (moving sideways) left or right. It did not look smooth at all, it looks like the camera operator was alone trying to pull off the move which can be difficult.
This is a move that would require a camera assist to truck while the operator keeps the shot aligned (or even use a dolly designed for this). I don’t blame the operator for this, the director maybe should of given up on it after it didn’t work five times…
-Way too much movement going on in the backgrounds when you have boxes up.
-The constantly looping animated Power and Politics logo is incredibly annoying as well. It does not even loop seamlessly.
-This is not really about the show itself howerver please cut the black spots and the “Live Stream Will Resume” from the on-demand version on http://www.cbc.ca/video/#/News/Politics/Power_&_Politics/ID=1309109957
Overall Congrats to the crew on this new show, I look forward watching it online in the future.
I doubt I could of done any better despite my bitching.
