The influence of “Ouimet” on CBC Toronto
Okay, this is the funniest thing I’ve seen all week. I laughed so hard, I shot coffee out my right nostril.
It started when “Ouimet,” the mystery management blogger noted that the position of a flat-screen monitor’s legs sometimes make it look like the presenter on screen has skinny, goofy legs extending out of the monitor.
Seems somebody at CBC Television News reads Ouimet’s blog and made a slight change to the monitor’s legs (see below photo).

“Who would have known blogging could make such a difference,” Ouimet told InsideTheCBC.com.
Earlier this year, she posted a photograph of a piece of artwork in the Toronto broadcast centre which appeared to depict an employee being escorted out of a building by security guards. The artwork was gone within a day.
Truth be told, we may never know if the monitor change was just coincidence. I mean, the monitor certainly looks more stable so maybe that was it. Yeah. That.

I didn’t see an announcement, but do you know your blog is up for a Canadian Blog Award? cba.myblahg.com I’ve been voting for it some along with Azerbic.
I’m glad Ouimet is using those considerable powers of observation for the purposes of good rather than evil, that’s all I’m going to say!
Although I do have to wonder: why only the right nostril?
Hi Saskboy – thanks for letting me know!
Funny observation. (smile)
Thanks to barbara, I am going to ask this, “So did the coffee drip from the nostril? Or was it a clean shot?” Sorry, I am still feeling the effect of Borat from a few weeks ago. (smile)
You’re welcome. Can I get a plug then for my blog, or my Sci/Tech blog Off The Grid?
Yknow, I watch CBC News at Six Toronto for the news, and I like it compared to the tabloid style of commercial television, but…
Holy mack. Those are long legs…
Someone’s ought to get a shot of John Northcott in that compromising position
