Well, I can only speak for myself, but I belong to both the jPod and Save jPod Now! facebook Groups and I can assure you that I do in fact, exist.
A bunch of us do.
However, I do not belong to the CBC facebook group. For that, I’d have to click on that little button that says “Become a Fan”. And even though joining would enable me to complain about them, I just cannot show any kind of support for Kirstine Layfield and the Ceeb as I am just so infuriated with them right now.
Become a Fan….. HA!
Don’t take offense, Stephanie. This was referring to the characters “Dan Coulter”, “Stephanie Flarety”, and “Bonnie Groves”. “Dan” led off with an accusation that CBC was biased against Conservatives, and the two followed in agreeing. This was all done in the “Save Classical Music at the CBC” group. Whoever made these accounts is simply a coward, and it’s nothing more than the unfortunately inevitable side effect of having such a large and successful group on Facebook.
I can’t find the story on publicbroacasting.ca Just me? Or is CBC so desperate that it’s making stuff up?
“Phantoms” or simply aliases for people who don’t want to use their names? (And facebook will kill off obviously fake names)
No offence taken Eugene. I myself think it’s pretty moronic to hide behind a fake profile. jPod Fans don’t seem to have a problem stating who they are and what they believe in.
There are many of us (real) people in the “Save Classical Music at the CBC” group who don’t want to bring politics into the discussion. Some of us did suspect that maybe some of these people arguing about politics may have been the same person. However, discussions about that seem to have died down now, and more time is spent discussing the actual CBC issues.
