CBC to open mini-stores in time for holidays
CBC’s merchandising division is taking its show on the road, opening five new CBC Shop locations across the country. Kiosks will open shortly in malls in Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal.
The CBC Shops will sell DVDs and CDs, books, and CBC/Radio-Canada branded clothing and accessories. Profits from the shops will be reinvested into programming.
The first location is in the Edmonton City Centre Mall close to the CBC/Radio-Canada production centre. Four new seasonal kiosks will be at Carrefour Laval and Promenades Saint-Bruno in Montreal, Scarborough Town Centre in Toronto, and Place d’Orléans in Ottawa.

Once again, the Maritimes are ignored. I’m kind of surprised that there won’t be one in Vancouver or Victoria.
The Place d’Orléans Mall kiosk has been open for business since November 10th, or so I’ve been told by on-duty staff working there. I found it this past Monday as noted in my blog.

Man, wish they opened one in Windsor, Im still looking for the famed blue HNIC jersey…that is featured in the picture of the CBC store.
I saw the one at Place D’Orleans yesterday and was super-stoked until I discovered that they didn’t have any David Suzuki shirts. OH THE HUMANITY!
Now I have to go all the way to Sparks to get one??? BAH!

Looks like I’ll have to send the family on a road trip to Edmonton to get me some decent Christmas gear this year.
You would think that Vancouver would have been included for these Kiosks. I know the building’s currently under construction, but Pacific Center really isn’t that far away.. or even a street corner would be nice to see somewhere downtown.
Too bad they don’t sell CBC logo earrings. that’s what I want for Christmas.
I really should head down to the CBC shop down at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre and get one of those retro T-shirts eh? I’m on vacation in December and you might be interested in shots of me in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Brisbane, Sydney…
