And the committee puts yet another year behind them as The Silliest Choice Ever Awards.
No matter how many awards you give him, the day will never come that George is the best interviewer in this or any other country.
Not even in Kahzistan.
If it was “Best Music-related Talk Show”, yes. I love George’s work like crazy, but….no. Not Talk show host in general.
I can see the age demographic changing media standards daily & this, my friends, is the future.
Canadian talk shows are slim pickings… the only other nominee was Live@Much.
Interviewer, on the other hand, has some competition – and all five of the nominees were CBC-related.
The award for the show is well deserved, I think. Is George the best host / interviewer? Maybe not, but he’s original.
Shows that there can’t be much choice for this award. I hate his feigned adulation for the leftie guests. The David Suzuki interview is classic.

And Stroumboulopoulos will be celebrating the best of Canada’s contribution to TV on Oct. 28 while hosting the Geminis in Regina, a city he thinks is the perfect setting for such a show.
“Doing a show like that in a town like that is way better than doing a show in Toronto or Vancouver, and I’m from Toronto. The problem with big cities, we’re Canadian, we don’t care about anything. It’s like ‘Oh, blah, blah, it’s an award show, who cares?’” he explains. “You go to Regina? Party!”
