The Case of the Duelling Billboard Logos

This is what happens when a big media company has a division that sells billboard ads. Oops.
What’s especially ironic about that is that the creation of CBC came out of CBS moving into Canada back in the 30s. Thus the formation of the CRBC. And now history’s repeating itself. [More on the CBC's beginnings.] Thanks to Don Adams from the CBC Museum for tipping me off to this!

I’m trying to remember what the company used to be called? Viacom? But a search tells me that there is a company called CBS Outdoor that sells billboard space. (And looking at the URL, I think I remembered its former name correctly.)

    Confirmation: http://viacomoutdoor.com/media.php?mediaId=128

Ah, cool, thanks. I’ll fix the text. :)

You don’t quite know who’s undermining whom here. I like the thought. :-)

_That well known CBS logo is everywhere, including many of the local bus shelters here in Toronto.

Somewhat related.. but this is a big gripe I have with the ad department.

Rarely ever do I see URLs on ads, whether they be posters, in the paper, or billboards like the one above.

Blake: but then the user gets to play Guess-The-URL, which is fun and interactive and hence 2.0-compliant!
