Today’s Tasty Tidbits
A few items that caught my eye that don’t necessarily deserve a full story:
- Don’t forget that the last auditions for the new CBC Television reality show Dragon’s Den run this Thursday (London) and Friday (Toronto). If you’re interested, you can apply to be on the show. "Ouimet" has some thoughts about the show — I think she likes it!
- Two words: Sushi Samuri.
- Forget working at the CBC. I want to work at this CBC!
- Clearly the winners of the most-fanatical-fans award are these fans, for whom Strombo worship is a way of life!
- For those of you in television who’ve had your share of bloopers, just be grateful you didn’t stab yourself accidentally on live television.

Ah, yes, tis’ true. Other than music, art, my daughter and my job…I live and breathe “The Hour” and all things George.
I have a nice little stash of merch at home. Got my mug, my water bottle, my sweatshirt and my tee!
The people I work with think I am nuts, they are always saying “It’s just a tv show”.
What do they know, eh!
This “Inside the CBC” thing is pretty cool!
Hey we win! Thank you! Is there a prize? We would love a The Hour shirt for h’our collection. Sarah F. please email the blog with want you have to say as a guest contributor.
Wow, we DO win! Is there some kind of special “we rock Stroumbo style” t-shirt prize or something? No? Oh my god, airfare to see the show? Seriously? I’m so excited! I’ve got to go start packing and…what? No prize at all? Crap.
Still appreciate it though!
Sarah, I think we’d all love to hear what you’d have to say as a guest contributor, I would look forward to it. Check out the guest contributor link on the side of The Stroumboulopouli’s page if you’re interested.
Thanks very much for the ‘fan’atical award!!
Ummm….It’s great that people like myself enjoy watching The Hour, cuz Mr. Stroumboulopoulos ROCKS!! But isn’t there a line between fan and stalker? I’m glad he has the fan base for his show, but…to live for a show is….just a little…CRAZY!!!!
Kami to answer your question… no.
are addicted to blogging). But crazy? naaaa! You can ask George yourself if I am a stalker.
It’s like loving sports, or art, or video games. People spend a lot of time and effort on those activities don’t they? In fact entire industries are based on those things that people think they can’t live without. Internet comes to mind. Some people are info addicts. Some people (odd people like myself
We the fans of The Hour are just doing our part to support the arts. Now that …Sounds Like Canada!
Thanks for having my back Barbara! Love the explanation, too true.
(Maybe Kami didn’t see the other things in my life on my list?) =)
I’m pretty sure that George knows the difference between a stalker and a fan when he meets one. And so far we are good.
There is this thing called respect and boundaries…oh, and reality. Check, check, check!
Thanks for the concern.
Not to gang up on you here, Kami, but I just wanted to point out that The Hour (and susequently its charismatic host) are just one interest that these bloggers have, and it just happens to be a shared interest. We are all individually involved in a number of other pursuits.
Some would say that I, for instance, am far more fanatical about music, but nobody has an issue with that (and yeah they’d be right). Don’t worry – we are all nice sane folks.
Wow, we’re crowding this post!
I just thought I’d mention that you’ll notice that some of our blog entries about George/The Hour/etc. are actually criticisms, as we all have our own individual opinions and we don’t really gather to talk about how “wonderful” he is. As pointed out, it’s more of an interest blog, and it’s not so much George as it is The Hour in it’s entirety. It was The Hour that brought us together, and though I won’t speak for the other ladies as they have their own right to speak, I myself have spoken out against “stalking” and taking celebrity admiration to an extreme.
Check the site out for yourself, you might be pleasantly surprised.
