OK, I’m not part of the Vancouver CBC radio staff, nor do I work for the CBC; however, I do listen to CBC One 690 AM (Vancouver) religiously. I hope they get it fixed and figured out soon because the cutouts and miss-queues are crazy, although becoming less frequent as time goes by. But I’m still a loyal listener!
Hey Tod,
You need to remember that the world doesn’t revolve around Vancvouer. DaletPlus was installed in several locations before Vancouver. Moncton was the first, more than a year and a half ago if memory serves me. Halifax has had it for a while, and St. John’s has used it for several months now.
I love the first two comments. They are exactly the style of comments we would get when doing an open line on the new TV season, for example. TV Viewers, what do you think about the new season? Callers: “Well, I don’t actually watch tv. I haven’t watched tv in 10 years. I think TV is a waste of time.” Well, then why did you call? I guess I’m just as bad, since I am not a Vancouver radio staff member, and haven’t had to use Dalet in a couple of years. But hey, that’s why I love this blog, it’s democratic!
I have seen so many posts here about this Dalet thing, but I have never heard of the darn thing in “the real world” if you will. Why so many posts devoted to it?
Jeremy, it’s because no one in the “real world” would ever use Dalet, because it doesn’t actually work that well.
That also explains all the cbc Dalet chatter, because a lot of people are frustrated with the tools they’re asked to use.
