Vancouver settling into new TV news set

As Vancouver continues to move ahead on its myCBC rollout, the new CBC News at Six set has now had a full week of on-air use. Similar in design to the Calgary newsworld set (large space, red and white primary colours), the Vancouver set includes a large weather centre fro which recently moved CBC meteorologist Clare Martin does extended forecasts.

    I hate the background.

Looks like a big painted mural.

There should be a live action green screen showing shots of Vancouver.

I like the new set, and more important, the program is great. It’s the best supper time news hour in the city. Hopefully it gets the audience it deserves.

Besides the new set, is this part of a repositioning/rebranding of the dinnertime news program? I’ve been noticing the new print ads which seem more “regional” in flavour than they have been in awhile. If this is true, I highly applaud it. Really love it when the Ceeb takes the time to go regional and have more depth and investment in the communities.
